COTTAGE TUDOR | DINING

Our Cottage Tudor signature style blends the warmth of cottage charm with the refined details of Tudor heritage, creating spaces that feel both inviting and storied. As seen in this dining room concept, rich wood tones and classic craftsmanship bring a sense of timelessness, while soft, natural textures add an effortless, lived-in appeal. The moody teal wainscoting anchors the space, complementing the delicate floral wallpaper that nods to old-world whimsy. Elegant yet relaxed elements such as the pleated shade chandelier, the vintage-inspired artwork, and the mix of refined and rustic materials contribute to a layered, collected-over-time aesthetic. Every detail is thoughtfully chosen to evoke history, comfort, and an enduring sense of home.

Introducing the first installment of our Signature Collection series! We are thrilled to begin this journey of curating spaces that reflect our signature style, one room at a time. With each edition, we’ll provide you with detailed inspiration, color palette suggestions, styling tips, and curated shoppable pieces to bring your dream space to life.

In our first feature, we’re diving into a Cottage Tudor-inspired dining room that perfectly captures the charm and warmth of this timeless style. Drawing inspiration from cozy country cottages and the elegant, historical essence of Tudor design, this room embodies a sense of heritage and elevated ease. Whether you're working with a grand space or a cozy nook, this design is adaptable and brimming with character.

COTTAGE TUDOR DINING ROOM INSPIRATION

Our Cottage Tudor style is rooted in the balance of whimsy charm and refined elegance. So when we first spied this dining table with the curved iron stretcher, we knew this was going to become the anchoring piece for our design. The heaviness of the oak frame is balanced with linen upholstered & paper cord wrapped backing of the dining chairs. The room itself pulls from the earthy, muted tones of nature while incorporating soft touches that elevate the ambiance. It’s the combination of rich wood tones, plush textiles, and vintage accents that creates a welcoming atmosphere, making the space feel both timeless and contemporary.

COLOR PALETTE

To help set the stage, we’ve selected a color palette that embodies the spirit of Cottage Tudor:

#534847 – A deep, earthy brown with hints of gray, perfect for rich furniture or accent pieces.

#E9D8B4 – A soft, warm beige that brings in a light and airy feel to balance the darker hues.

#475B5C – A muted, deep green that evokes the tranquility of nature, ideal for wall colors or large furniture items.

#EFE9D8 – A soft cream that keeps the space feeling open and fresh while grounding the overall design.

#A78367 – A beautiful, weathered gold that adds a touch of vintage elegance and pairs wonderfully with natural wood finishes.

STYLING TIPS

  1. Balance Dark & Light Tones – The deep teal wainscoting adds richness, so keep the upper walls light with a soft, vintage-inspired wallpaper or warm neutral paint to create contrast and balance.

  2. Choose a Statement Light Fixture – A chandelier with pleated shades, like the one shown, adds warmth and character. Opt for fixtures with aged brass or black metal for an old-world feel.

  3. Layer Window Treatments – Simple, flowing linen curtains in a true white provides the perfect balance between warm & cool,  softens the space and creates an airy, relaxed contrast to the structured wainscoting and wooden furniture.

  4. Curate a Beautiful Hutch Display – Style your glass-front cabinet with a mix of functional and decorative pieces: stacked plates, vintage artwork, woven baskets, and heirloom dishware to add depth and personality.

  5. Mix Chair Styles for Interest – Combining side chairs and armchairs, like in this design, creates a more intentional, bespoke look rather than a cookie-cutter dining set.

  6. Anchor the Space with a Vintage-Style Rug – A muted, distressed rug under the table adds warmth, texture, and a timeworn elegance that enhances the collected feel of the space.

  7. Incorporate Subtle Patterns – The striped floral wallpaper introduces a classic, understated pattern that complements the room without overpowering it. Choose vintage-style prints for a similar effect.

  8. Use Artwork to Tell a Story – A small, framed landscape painting adds an old-world charm; add similar pieces with antique-style frames to bring warmth and history to the walls.

  9. Emphasize Natural Materials – Wood tones in the furniture, woven chair backs, and rattan or linen elements (like the curtains & chandelier shades) create an inviting, charming feel true to the Cottage Tudor aesthetic.

  10. Keep Styling Simple & Intentional – Avoid clutter by displaying only what enhances the space. Think a woven basket with silverware, a ceramic pitcher, or a few well-placed books rather than overfilling surfaces.
